Sherry Chang, Licensed Acupuncturist and Board Certified Herbalist, completed her Masters of Science degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City, and is licensed to practice in New York.

 

Sherry is nationally certified Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

In 2021 Dr. Sherry Chang completed her doctorate degree in Chinese Medicine to further her studies and deepen her knowledge.

 

Clinical training includes Fortune Society, Kamwo Herbal Pharmacy in New York’s Chinatown, and the Beth Israel VA Hospital pain management center. In addition, she has trained in Taipei, Taiwan at the Kun Ming Branch Chinese Medicine Hospital, strengthening her skills in acupuncture and herbal medicine with advanced studies in dermatology, women’s health, gastrointestinal health, musculoskeletal pain management and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

After studying in academia and clinical training outside of school, she furthered her training in different kinds of styles of acupuncture including trigger point acupuncture, neuropuncture and distal needling acupuncture (Master Tung Style) acupuncture.  All of these different styles aim relieving pain and restoring homeostasis in the body.

Sherry’s belief is that Chinese Medicines’ effectiveness in treating the whole person versus just the symptoms enables the body to prevent recurrence of disease and discourages new illness from occurring.

 

Sherry understands that for many patients, acupuncture is very new to them. She works diligently to educate her patients and has a gentle, respectful approach to her acupuncture treatments, making certain that each patient is comfortable.
